Oxnard is nestled on the shoreline of California in the ‘Oxnard Plains’ a region well known for its productive soils, picturesque scenery, and biodiverse wetlands. Just west of Los Angeles and south of Ventura, it is the most populous city in Ventura County. Perhaps one of the most well-known events to take place in this thriving agricultural community is the California Strawberry Festival, held in May, featuring everything ‘berry’…treats and drinks, chef demonstrations and eating contests. The Multicultural Festival held every October celebrates Oxnard’s diverse communities with live entertainment, family friendly activities and international cuisine. Whale watching is a popular excursion for both locals and tourists alike, late December through mid-April when the whales migrate through the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary.
