Westlake Village

Situated on only 5.4 square acres and transected by the Los Angeles and Ventura County lines, the master plan for Westlake Village’s ‘City in the country,’ was launched in 1963. Prominent architects, engineers and land planners contributed to the design of the uniquely integrated community that has become a nationally acclaimed model for the planned community concept. Located only 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 38 miles west of downtown Los Angeles, this delightful enclave with a man-made lake in the middle, is bordered by the Simi Hills to the north and the Santa Monica Mountains to the south. Current population estimate is 8,217. Due to the dual county (LA and Ventura) aspect of the city, both the highly rated Conejo Valley Unified School District and the Las Virgenes Unified School District service the community. Outdoor activities are plentiful including golf, tennis, hiking, bicycling and even sailing which is offered to all ages through the Westlake Yacht Club.
