Newbury Parkis nestled at the base of the Santa Monica mountains; a mere 35 miles from DTLAand a short drive through the canyon to the beach. It is within the attendance boundaries of the award winning Conejo Valley Unified School District which is home to eight public schools: Five K-5, one K-8, two Middle (6-8) and 1 high school. Built in 1988, DosVientos (Two Winds), is a 2,400+ unit upscale master-planned community. Itis one of 6 inland communities along the California coast that experiences a coastal influence. In addition to the favorable climate, Dos Vientos is located within the boundaries of the California Distinguished Schools – Sycamore Canyon K-8 and Newbury Park High School.

The Stagecoach Inn Museum is a beloved member of the community, offering family-oriented special events, lectures, school programs, and fun and friendly group of docents.

The region has a mild, year-round Mediterranean Climate or Dry-Summer Subtropical zone climate, with warm, sunny, dry summers and cool, rainy winters. Vegetation is typical of Mediterranean environments, with chaparral and grasses on the hillsides and numerous western valley oaks. Its elevation ranges from about 500 to 900 feet(excluding hills). The area has slightly cooler temperatures than the surrounding areas, as it receives cooler air from the ocean through various hill and mountain passes.
